THE Stronglife Fitness - Pleasant Grove STORY

What makes Stronglife Fitness - Pleasant Grove different?

Stronglife’s mission is to inspire and invest in an individual’s journey to optimal self by offering a positive, supportive and safe space for clients to transform their health and body with sustainable practices in strength, nutrition, accountability and connection.

Hi, I’m Jill Carlile and I’m the owner of StrongLife Fitness. We are a private gym that specializes in strength training programs, customized nutrition protocols and coaching, weight loss and recovery. We believe the best results happen when training is unique to the individual and there is a personal connection to every fitness and health practice implemented in a coaching program. StrongLife creates a joyful, non-competitive atmosphere where the needs of our clients always come first. Our mission is to inspire and invest in an individual’s journey to optimal self by offering a positive, supportive and safe space for clients to transform their health and body with sustainable practices in strength, nutrition, accountability and connection

The reason Stronglife came to be is simple, I wanted to create a gym where all the things I needed when I was going through my own strength and weight loss journey in my 40’s existed in one amazing place. So I decided that I could do strength and fitness for women better and took a walk on the wild side to build a gym based on connection, safety, love and sustainable practices. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t alone in it…my younger sister ( who btw still trains for Stronglife everyday) and I began training friends and family in my home garage gym while our kiddos were young and could play together while we trained. From that small start and with a lot of growth and change along the way, our reputation of excellence and real success with our clients grew exponentially allowing us to open our first storefront location in Riverton.

Today, with the help of my incredible wife and business partner, we have two state of the art  private gyms that offer elite training and nutrition services with vibrant communities in Riverton and Pleasant Grove Utah. We offer onsite and online strength training and weight loss programs that are customized to our client’s needs and goals. We specialize in training men and women over 40 in a non competitive and positive culture and providing a clean and inspiring space for our clients to build their health and strength. We offer highly specialized private and semi-private strength training programs for clients with unique training needs or adaptation. Our strength programs also include 1:1 Nutrition Coaching, customized Nutrition Protocols and App tracking with our on staff certified nutritionist, InBody scans coupled with Hype Sessions to assess progress and goals, as well as our private gym membership for self directed workouts.

We hope that your experience at Stronglife Fitness will be one of resonance and joy as you commit to practices that will support and change your health and strength in alignment with your fitness goals and the quality of life that you desire both now and in the future.

Alicia Stroud

Trainer

Hi, I’m Alicia Stroud, and I’ve been a trainer at StrongLife Gym for over 20 years. I actually helped to build and train the Stronglife community from the very beginning and I am dedicated to the growth and success of our amazing community. Throughout my career, I’ve specialized in strength training, with certifications in TRX, kettlebell training, and a lifelong dedication to weightlifting. Coaching is more than my profession—it’s my passion.

As a mother of four (ages 8 to 21) and a wife of nearly 26 years, I know firsthand the importance of balancing family, fitness, and self-care. My husband and I are looking forward to celebrating our anniversary—hopefully with our toes in the sand somewhere warm!

When I’m not in the gym coaching or training, I love to read, organize (yes, I find it relaxing!), and enjoy great food—Mexican cuisine is my favorite. Leg day will always have my heart, but I’m often strongest in tricep and lower back movements, which I love for their power and precision.

StrongLife isn’t just where I work—it’s one of the greatest joys of my life. Every day, I get to show up for an incredible community of people who are committed to bettering themselves. I’m honored to walk alongside my clients through their highs and lows, celebrating their progress and supporting them through the challenges. The friendships and connections built here go far beyond the gym floor.

I love what I do, I love my clients, and I’m deeply grateful for the impact StrongLife has had on my life. What we’ve created here is truly special—a place built on strength, support, and genuine connection. I’m here for the long haul, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Austen Edwards

Trainer

Hi, I’m Austen—one of the Lead Trainers here at StrongLife Fitness. I’m 27 years old and have been coaching for 9 years, helping people build real strength, lasting confidence, and sustainable fitness and health habits. I’m certified through ACE Fitness, with a background that spans weight loss, strength training, mobility, and conditioning. Whether you’re brand-new to the gym or chasing a performance goal, my approach is all about meeting you where you are—and helping you push just beyond that, one step at a time.

I’ve been in the gym since I was 15 and have personally experienced how training transforms not just your body, but your mind. Fitness gave me direction, discipline, and a deep sense of purpose—and I bring that same passion to every client I coach.

My favorite muscle group to train is chest, but Romanian deadlifts take the top spot as my all-time favorite movement for building strength and power. I grew up right here in Utah and feel lucky to call this beautiful state home.

I chose StrongLife because I believe in what we do: empowering people to live happier, healthier lives by building stronger bodies. This isn’t just a gym—it’s a community with heart, but don’t take my word for it, experience it for yourself and come be a part of it… Let’s get to work!

Dawson Parry

Trainer

Hi, I’m Dawson! I’m a certified personal trainer with a deep passion for fitness, performance, and helping others grow stronger—physically and mentally. I’m relatively new to Stronglife, but I am so excited to grow our community and provide an amazing and transformative experience for our clients and Stronglife fam. I believe in making workouts fun and social while still working and training hard. This is the  perfect place for opportunity, growth, and connection.

My journey into fitness began long before my professional career. I was a collegiate athlete for five years, playing NCAA Division I baseball at South Dakota State University and junior college ball at Miles Community College. That experience taught me the value of discipline, strength, teamwork, and resilience—qualities I now bring to every training session.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with minors in Health Science and Health Education, and I’m certified through the NCSF (National Council on Strength and Fitness). My coaching style combines evidence-based training methods with a passion for movement, aiming to help each client build sustainable habits, long-term strength, and real confidence.

Whether you’re brand-new to fitness or looking to level up your training and performance. I can help you set those goals, meet you where you’re at and challenge you just enough to keep you growing. My favorite lift? The Romanian deadlift—it’s powerful, functional, and endlessly rewarding. I’m also a big fan of steak, breakfast burritos, and a solid leg day (especially with moral support!).

Outside the gym, I love playing and watching baseball, spending time with my family, and coming up with new ideas to help our StrongLife community thrive. I’m here not just to train—I’m here to lead, build solid friendships and help you realize what you’re truly capable of.

Let’s build something great—together.

Melissa Hammer

Trainer

Hi  I’m Melissa Hammer! I’ve been a part of StrongLife Fitness since August 2017. My journey began not as a coach, but as a frustrated client looking to lose weight and regain confidence in my 40’s. From the moment I met Jill, everything changed—she took me under her wing, introduced me to strength training, and helped me believe in myself again.

As I learned how to lift weights, I fell in love with the process. I began to feel strong, empowered, and proud of what my body could do. Over time, I watched my body composition shift—muscle replacing bodyfat, and confidence replacing doubt. What started as a personal transformation soon became a professional calling.

After a few years as a client, I became deeply interested in coaching and began shadowing the amazing trainers at StrongLife. I earned certifications in the bench press, squat, and deadlift through Lisa Maximus, and officially stepped into the role of assistant coach. Today, my favorite lifts are the bench press and squat, and I’ll always have a special place in my heart for glute training—it’s my favorite muscle group to work!

I’m a wife to Jordan Hammer, and together we share a big, beautiful blended family—four incredible bonus daughters, six amazing children total, and nearly six grandchildren who light up our lives. In my spare time, you’ll find me cheering on my kids in rugby and track, cooking for the people I love, spending time with my husband, and soaking up every moment I can with my grandbabies.

To me, StrongLife is so much more than a gym—it’s a family. I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships I’ve found here and for the opportunity to give back. I especially love helping women discover their strength and feel confident, capable, and proud of their bodies. It’s an honor to be part of their journeys—and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else!

Robyn Mons

Trainer/Certified Life Coach

Hi, I’m Robyn. I discovered my love for fitness over 18 years ago, during a time in my life when I truly needed it most. Living in Des Moines, Iowa, and adjusting to life with my third baby, I was struggling with postpartum depression and chronic low back pain. On a whim—and with a lot of nerves—I joined a local kickboxing program. That decision changed everything.

Not only did I kick and punch my way through the baby blues, but I also found relief from pain, a sense of empowerment, and a deep passion for movement. Fitness became a lifeline for me, and I knew I wanted to help others experience the same transformation. I began coaching and worked my way through certification programs to become a group fitness instructor.

After moving to Utah, I was introduced to Jill shortly after the StrongLife Riverton location opened. Her mentorship guided me into the world of strength training, and I’ve been with StrongLife ever since—now over eight years. Along the way, I’ve expanded my expertise with certifications in TRX, specialized training in squats and deadlifts, and a life coaching certification to better support my clients both physically and mentally.

Strength training has become a core part of my life, and I love lifting alongside the other amazing trainers here. Leg day is quickly becoming my favorite—but only with a little moral support, of course!

I live in Riverton and thrive on building meaningful connections. I’m passionate about mindfulness, personal growth, and being fully present—whether I’m reading, hiking, spending time with my children, orKort exploring new places. StrongLife is more than a gym to me; it’s a community that feels like family, and I’m honored to be part of it every single day.

Helen Gilchrist

Trainer

Hi, I’m Helen — one of the personal trainers here at StrongLife.

Originally from the UK, I moved to the U.S. in 2016 with my husband and our two young daughters. After spending a few years settling in and focusing on my family, I decided it was time to align my professional background in coaching and mentoring with my personal passion for health and fitness.

My journey into the fitness world began with barre, where I trained and certified through a boutique studio in Salt Lake City. I deepened my understanding of the human body with a certification in Musculoskeletal Anatomy through Anatomy4Fitness, and soon discovered a growing passion for strength training—especially its transformative impact on women at all stages of life.

Driven to learn more, I earned my Pre- and Postnatal Coaching certification from Girls Gone Strong (GGS), followed by my Certified Personal Trainer credential from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), along with CPR and AED certifications. I’ve continued to grow as a coach with additional specializations, including kettlebell training through Living.Fit, women-specific coaching through GGS, and a Nutrition Coach certification through the International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA).

When I first walked into StrongLife, I immediately felt the difference. The space was warm and welcoming, the energy was positive, and it was clear that both trainers and clients were genuinely invested in one another’s success. I knew right away I’d found the community I wanted to be part of.

As a coach, I believe in creating a supportive, empowering environment where each person feels seen, challenged, and capable of becoming stronger—physically and mentally. I love helping clients find joy in movement and strength in their own bodies, no matter where they’re starting from.

Personally, I enjoy training my core—it’s one of my strongest areas—and nothing makes me feel more powerful than a solid barbell back squat. Outside the gym, you’ll usually find me reading, hiking, listening to podcasts about strength and personal development, or wake surfing in the summer. Much of my time is also joyfully spent on the sidelines of soccer fields or courts, cheering on my daughters in basketball, volleyball, and tennis.

Fun fact: my path to fitness wasn’t linear. I studied geology and geography at university and worked as a geologist before setting off to travel the world at 23. I met my Scottish husband in Alice Springs, Australia, while working a mix of adventurous jobs—from cleaning tour buses and cooking in restaurant kitchens to managing hostels. When I returned to the UK, I completed a postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management and built a career as an HR and Learning & Development manager before finding my true calling in women’s health and strength training.

I’m proud to bring a unique blend of experience, empathy, and enthusiasm to every session—and I’d love to support you on your journey to becoming stronger, more confident, and more connected to your body
